Advantage Outing @ Durshet....

Misty mountains…. Well developed resort and friends to enjoy the moment with. What more do you want on a weekend that might be your last weekend fun for the year.

Corporate tournaments in September and my MBA exams coming up in October … this apparently was my last chance to cut loose on my routine and enjoy nature. The opportunity came my way in the form of ADVANTAGE outing at Durshet.

Located remotely but at beautiful site, this place is really cool for the people who want to be close to nature and enjoy the luxury of resort amenities. Highlight Point of the resort is its location. Only 15 min walk will take you to a natural waterfall…. 5min down the steps n you are standing next to Amba river.. some adventure activities like Valley crossing, kayaking, rafting and rappelling are also arranged here.

We reached this place at around 11.00am and then on was full on dhammal…

We went for jungle trail. Plantation there was admirable. Teak, Umber, Tuti, Suru many different types of trees are planed there. Waterfall there was just too good.. Splashes of water hitting hard on our head and back we enjoyed force of water for some time. By the time we came out of the waterfall.. everybody had turned red because of the hard hitting water.

While returning back to the resort we took some snaps.. and then was sportz time. All Maradona’s and Pele’s of Advantage got on the field for the soccer match. While we played soccer some preferred to play underarm cricket.

Some played handball… some relaxed and some just watched every one playing with pegs of their respective brands. After an hour of muddy soccer. And other activities at around 2.00 everyone was so very hungry… We rushed to the dining area and were welcomed with the flavors of delicious food. Food was nice(better that our canteen for sure).

Mitesh, Pranay, Zankhana, Vivek n many others displayed their skills in singing which followed by dance for a while. Some oldies, some goldies, some latest tunes and a small ragging session of freshers, we all had a gr8 time.

After this main course, for deserts was a adventures activity – Valley Crossing. Anticipating a deep valley n something really dangerous we followed lead of the professional person there. But it turns out to be a big fools session for us. A rope was tied to two trees some 100 meters away at slope and we had to cross this distance using the equipments provided. Although all equipments were in place it wasn’t adventures at all. Never the less some 20 of us tried our hands on the opportunity.

We visited the Amba river near by. Muddy water of river Amba took turns at decent water speed. It was to be at this place where we were supposed to do kayaking or rafting. But it was a bit risky at that point coz of heavy rains in the mountains and looking at the speed of water, it looked right decision.

How can a trip to a resort end with our swimming pool play and a dance?

After valley crossing, every one jumped into the swimming pool. Water polo and dance on the beats of some latest desi numbers in the artificial waterfall, seemed the perfect end of an eventful day. But this was not it.

..

Evening snacks followed by “dhol beats” and “dance masti".

Shadows starts to lengthen n we could see birds returning to their nests. After our last visit to Tikona fort, this was once again a sad moment, when I actually wanted to stay back, but had to return to Mumbai. Reenergized by the freshness of forest and greenery our souls returned to Mumbai. The place where we belong to.

After getting home, throwing wet shoe away, is the last thing I remember of the day. Next day I directly saw the sun on my head. Woke up post 12.00pm for the lunch with the memories of the yesterday .
